Rolling O-Lab Dealer Tour 2012
On the road again!
Every year Oakley Europe organizes a Dealer Tour in every major country inviting all key accounts and new customers for a get-together packed with fun, entertainment, product training, great food and some special events.
The idea: Train and inspire, present the new collection highlights, and share the unique experience of the Oakley World.
Every year anew, weeks before in the Oakley Headquarters, we’re scratching our heads trying to come up with ideas for a day that no one will forget. And every year anew our invitees are happy to attend, curious to join the next marvellous surprise adventure! What would it be this year?
This year we gave the precious VIP Oakley boarding passes to the chosen invitees for four different surprise events:
24.04.2012 Bispingen Snow Dome
Our first tour stop was in Bispingen in Niedersachsen. We offered a RadarLock™ workshop at the SnowDome – ski rental, Oakley test equipment and riding inclusive. Between training sessions our invitees went skiing and snowboarding on the 300m long slope and enjoyed the 23.000 m² of snow with a fun park and a sledding slope. Others were more in a beach-mood and went surfing on the standing wave “Nordwelle” right outside the SnowDome. After a cool dinner people went home stoked on the fun experience.
25.04.2012 Sachsenring
Our next tour stop brought the O-Lab to Sachsenring racing circuit located in Saxony. The first races were held there in 1927 and thus the Sachsenring is one of the oldest race circuits in Germany. We parked the O-Lab right in the pit-lane where two huge garages had been emptied out for us. After some Welcome-aperitifs, we proceeded with the training and a RadarLock™ workshop. The real fun started when the first of our guests dared to pick up the offer to join a professional rally car driver for some rounds of Gymkhana-style drifting on the course. The wheel turned to the limit, flying sideways through the turns on the wet asphalt – the first of our brave co-pilots came back with big round eyes, increased heart rate and a big grin! To end the day on a mellower note, everyone was invited to take part in a guided tour about the history of Sachsenring, and afterwards left happy with many new stories to tell.
27.04.2012 Hanau Culture Club
This event was a bit different from the normal Oakley action-packed Dealer Tour days. Organised for clients from the optical profession, we had purposely chosen this modern designer club environment for our CrossLink™ workshop. Some training, a VIP photo wall and an elegant, delicious menu from famous star chef Daniel Schmidt (TV chef at Kabel Eins) were just some of the nice memories our guests took home.
28.04.2012 Sport Engelhorn Mannheim
Our last stop was Sport Engelhorn in Mannheim. During the breaks between several HDO High Definition Optics training sessions, everyone was trying to ride the Time Trials Simulator, trying to beat the record time.
This event was also over much too quickly, and we hope to see all of you next year again!
